New to Pilates?
Schedule your $50 Private intro session to get 1-on-1 instruction.
If you’re completely new to Pilates, we highly recommend starting with our introductory session. Once you’re oriented, you can continue with private sessions, bring in a friend for a duet, or mix it up with group classes. With a small number of students in each Reformer, Tower, and Wunda Chair classes, you’ll never be lost in the crowd.
Before Your First Pilates Class
Your health and safety are our primary concerns. If you have an injury, had surgery recently, or are pregnant, please contact us before signing up for a Pilates class.
When taking class, wear comfortable clothes that you can move in. Long jewelry may catch on the equipment, so leave that at home or take it off when you arrive. Please arrive 5 minutes before the scheduled start time so we can show you around and have you complete the necessary paperwork.
Bring a water bottle and be ready to move. You’re going to love it!

Pilates Tower Class
Combining essential mat work with the benefits of the Pilates Tower equipment, this class is ideal for students of all levels. Through a system of springs and bars, the equipment supports the body to ensure proper stabilization and positioning, while providing added resistance for strengthening, toning and lengthening muscles.
Wunda Chair
TRY SOMETHING NEW....
The Pilates chair—or “wunda chair,” as Joseph Pilates called it—is a powerful piece of exercise equipment. Its small size belies its remarkable ability to build core stability, upper-body strength and lower-body power to improve performance in athletes, retrain the body after injury and increase overall physical conditioning. Although it’s been part of the Pilates system for many years, the chair is currently experiencing a new level of interest as a great tool for teaching clients either individually or in small groups.
Pilates Reformer Classes
Our most popular class, the Pilates Reformer offers a great way to increase strength, flexibility and balance. We offer Reformer classes from Beginner to the Advanced level. If you are interested in trying out Pilates Reformer classes but have never tried them before please contact us and we will schedule you for a free private introductory session.
Pilates for Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
PILATES AND NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONS
Pilates has a unique ability to address the concerns of people living with MS. Through working on proper alignment and increasing core strength, Pilates can help people improve balance and increase strength and flexibility. Our Pilates for MS classes are slower moving with a lot of instructor assistance. Allowing even people dealing with the harshest affects of MS to enjoy the class.
If you have questions about this class, email Clara Gelatt, clara@pilatescollectivedenver.com to set up a one on one consultation to see if the Pilates for MS class would be a good fit for you.
Pilates Mat Class
Pilates mat classes focus on developing core strength, flexibility, balance and stamina. The instructor presents the exercises at multiple levels which allows students to choose to work at a beginning, intermediate, or advanced pace. Students learn to be aware of breathing patterns and spinal alignment while engaging the deep muscles of the core. Various props (e.g. flex bands, foam rollers, rings, light weights, and balls) are incorporated to enhance and intensify the workout.
Mindful Pilates
LOOKING TO MOVE MORE DELIBERATELY?
Our Mindful Pilates classes are for people who are working through issues such as sciatic pain, chronically stiff necks, or who are recovering from an injury.
This class is slightly slower moving than our regular classes. Participants may be dealing with a previous injury or chronic pain, and are given modifications to allow them to perform all movements pain-free.
If you are interested in Mindful Pilates but not sure if it's right for you,

Sarah grew up dancing since the age of five, and was trained classically in ballet through the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D). She was introduced to Pilates at Emerson College in Boston, where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.F.A in dance/theatre. She immediately fell in love with it and later received her official training, first with Dana Santi, and later with Risa Shepherd in Los Angeles, making her a third-generation Pilates instructor. Sarah opened her first studio in 2007 in Santa Monica, CA which she successfully operated for 13.5 years. After the pandemic, she relocated to Denver with her husband and two children and became the proud owner of The Pilates Collective in June 2021. Sarah looks forward to sharing her passion for Pilates with the Denver community! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors gardening, hiking, and skiing.

Pilates Collective FAQs
With a central studio location, we have Pilates sessions that fit your needs and help you reach your goals! We offer private, duet, and small group (6-person max) sessions. Join the Collective today!
-
Not at all! We practice Pilates to increase mobility, but there’s no test you have to pass to get in the studio door. We’ll work with you to reach your goals, whether they’re about flexibility, strengthening, or something else.
-
Maybe, but that’s not what we’re focused on. Pilates Collective looks at the body holistically, seeing how each system and muscle interacts with the whole. Our goal is to help you improve your alignment and mobility, and to feel great in your own unique body. If that allows you to lengthen, tone, and lose weight in the process, it’s because your body is functioning at its optimal level. Learn more about these ideas on the Pilates Collective blog.
-
When we schedule your introductory private session, we’ll pair you with an instructor whose availability matches yours. You may love working with her and decide to continue, or you may want to experience the expertise of our other instructors. We often share clients, offering you the opportunity to learn something different from each of us.
-
Visit the New Clients page to learn everything you need to know about your first Pilates session. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@pilatescollectivedenver.com or by text at (720) 575-3478.
-
That’s certainly our goal. Pilates is a great way to continue healing after working with a physical therapist (like ours!). In fact, we often get referrals from PTs. With that said, we don’t diagnose injuries, so your first call should be to your doctor.
Success stories result from a healthy partnership between you and your instructor. Give her as much information prior to your first session as possible, and let her know of new symptoms that arise. We can’t wait to help you feel great in your body!
-
Out of respect for our instructors and fellow clients, we enforce a 16-hour cancellation policy. If you know you can’t make a Pilates class or session, please contact the studio at least 16 hours in advance to avoid being charged (and so another student has the chance to take your place!).
Take a break from technology: please leave your phone with your personal belongings during the duration of class.
For the health of all our clients, we ask that you please refrain from wearing perfumes and scented lotions at the studio.
